This is a scenic trail run showcasing the beautiful Sagebrush Steppe of Southeastern Washington. It includes a 4k which has a gentle incline and gentle downhill out and back with and also an 11k loop that includes an intense climb up the Rattlesnake arm gaining 1500 ft over 4 miles. The 11k is a challenging, yet very rewarding climb.

WHERE: Rattlesnake Mountain Recreation Preserve Trailhead – Hwy 225 – 7 miles from exit 96 off I-82
RACE DESCRIPTION: 4k/11k Trail Run
5k(actually 2.4 miles) goes up a ravine that is a gentle out and back uphill and downhill.
10k(actually 6.8 miles) is an uphill then downhill trail loop showcasing the beauty of the Sagebrush Steppe and Rattlesnake Mountain. Includes a very tough ascent and descent of Rattlesnake Arm from mile 3.85 – 4.75 which ascends 660 feet over 0.45 miles.
Pick up your custom race packet with bib and goodies starting at 7 AM the day of the race.
GEAR: Weather can be unpredictable this time of year so come prepared and ready for rain/sun/wind/or snow
As of now this an unsupported course so bring your own water/snacks if you need them
REASON: This a fundraiser for the Tri-cities Tour de Coop www.tourdecooptricities.com and for the Runners of the Sage running group www.runnersofthesage.com – both have the same mission to encourage more active lifestyles, self-sufficiency, and more awareness of the environment.
$10 for 5k and $20 for 10k. Combed Cotton Shirts are $20 with pre-registration. Day of race $25 for 10k and $15 for 5k.
